Let
me preface this article by saying, shoe stores that carry size 41 have
size charts on their websites. For instance, Aldo Shoes sizing chart
reports a size 41 is equivalent to a size 10 and 42.5 is an 11. Size 41s
are actually a size 10ish.
All
I ask is when I visit these stores the sales associate should be
well-versed in sizing (European and Italian) to better assist their
customers. Extended-size feet gals know that size 41 is not a 'real'
size 11. It is incredibly frustrating to go into shoe stores that carry
size 41 and market it as an 11. I cannot tell you how many times I have
been confused by the sizing chart.
The
sizing truth of the matter is, it all depends on where the shoes are
manufactured. Shoes that are produced in China run smaller because of
Chinese culture and tradition (i.e. foot binding). Unless otherwise
specified for the sake of athletic shoes, they run a tad bit smaller.
Shoes from Europe run more narrow than other regions. American made
shoes run bigger.
