While out-n-about in Houston, I spotted a mobile poet, by the name of Traci Lavois shelling out her precious poems for donations and/or barter. As the customer, all you do is give her a subject and she creates the poem. My topic, S H O E S.

Here's what she birthed.
A something to strap to my, to my feet,
I carry my soul in my shoes
And there is something comforting in call them a pair,
A one plus one is two,
my feet, ten toes,
my walking sticks, they keep me close to the ground,
earth beneath me, and so I cloak them
in heels or laces,
in some wedged beauty or playfully in sandals.
Thank you feet, thank you shoes,
I never have to walk alone.
